Our museum will be closed for the winter break from 24 December 2025 to 2 January 2026 inclusive.
We will be open again as usual from 3 January 2026.

Gastronomy

The Gernheim Glassworks does not currently have its own restaurant. Cold drinks can be purchased in the shop.

There are areas available for picnics, including in the garden of the manor house.

You can find numerous references to restaurants and cafés in Petershagen and the surrounding area on the internet.

Arrival

By car

Take the A2 towards Oberhausen-Hannover and exit at Porta Westfalica. Then take the B 482 towards Porta Westfalica and continue to Lahde, keep towards Bremen and turn right off the B 61 towards Ovenstädt until you reach the museum car park in Gernheim.

The address of the car park for navigation devices is: Ovenstädter Straße, near house no. 39.

By bus and train

From Minden/Westfalen Hauptbahnhof, take a bus to Minden/Westfalen ZOB (e.g. bus line 6, bus line 7, bus line 10, bus line 509 or bus line 605). From ZOB, take the 501 towards Petershagen to the ‘Petershagen Marktplatz’ stop. From ‘Petershagen Marktplatz’, take bus line 530 towards Uchte or the taxi bus (telephone registration required at least 30 minutes before departure on 05231 977681) to the ‘Petershagen-Ovenstädt Gernheim’ stop.

With your dog in the museum

Dogs are allowed on the outdoor grounds on a leash. Dogs are not allowed inside the buildings, with the exception of guide dogs and assistance dogs.
