We now offer seated guided tours on our barrier-free, step-free terrace in the heart of Gernheim. This gives everyone the opportunity to experience our museum grounds without having to walk long distances or stand for long periods of time. Raised benches and special seating for walkers and wheelchairs allow everyone to sit together comfortably. Prams and similar vehicles can also be easily accommodated on the terrace, with babies and toddlers sitting on your lap. Within an hour, our guides will introduce you to all the buildings on the grounds and their history. You can see them from the terrace. If you wish, you can then take a look at the show production (a short walk away, also barrier-free access).

The game of marbles is a shared childhood memory for visitors of different generations, and the children at the hut also used to pass the time playing it. After a short tour of the museum together (45 minutes), we will try out different marble games and exchange ideas about different ways of playing and share memories.
Afterwards, you are welcome to spend more time playing games.

‘Women at the glassworks’, ‘Architectural history’ or ‘Glass production’
Our themed tours offer you the opportunity to get to know our site from a different perspective, focusing on a specific aspect: What was everyday life like for women at the glassworks in the 19th century – from the factory owner's wife to the glassmaker's wife? How do the coloured threads get into the glass? And where did the manor house stand before it was moved to Gernheim by the Schraders? You and your group can get to the bottom of these and many other exciting questions!
